One of Salil's favourite gambits:

At a roadside tea stall.

Salil: "Got Coffee?"
Man: "Ugh."
Salil: "Then give me Tea."
Man: "Ugh."   (Quick Double-take)   "Oh?"

Then there was the time when Salil had finished work
and was going back to his hotel.
He hailed a cab, and it stopped. He got in.

Salil: "Paramount hotel."
Cabbie: "Won't go there." And he opened the door,
motioning Salil to get out.
Salil: "Where will you go?"
Cabbie: "Railway Station Taxi Stand."
Salil: "O.K. Go there."
And so that is where they went.

And, for the sake of the record, it has to be
mentioned that Salil did get back to his hotel,
somewhat later in the night,
accompanied by the very same cabbie.
Both in high spirits, of course.
